Nancy Drew Challenge June Recap

The Nancy Drew Challenge is a reading challenge for 2010 for readers to attempt to read all 56 original yellow hardbacks that were in the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. Click here for more information or to sign up for the challenge. At the end of each month, I will put up a post where participants of the challenge can recap how they did during that month.

AHH!! Sorry this is late. I've been moving over the past week and have been extremely busy, exhausted and stressed. BTW, moving sucks!

Well we are halfway done with the Nancy Drew Challenge! Half the year has gone by and are you still loving Nancy or are you sick of her?

I managed to read 6 Nancy Drews in June, books 38-43. Sadly, I cannot remember anything too exciting about them. Well, I take it back. The Phantom of Pine Hill (famous to me because it was mentioned several times in the Baby Sitters Club series) had a bit old fashioned condescending terms towards Native Americans. But then again, these books are from the 1950s so sadly, you have to expect that. The books weren't boring, I just can't remember anything outstanding other than the fact that it is just expected that George is going to get hurt before Nancy does.

We have had someone already finished the challenge, so I will be putting up a post soon so you can list your names there. Don't forget if you finish at least 30 books, you are eligible for prizes!

Two questions to ask this month: How did Nancy fare for you in June, and since we are at the halfway point, how many books have you read total?

Comments

  1. I made it to #28 so far. Still enjoying this challenge. Nancy Drew is just a fun quick read.

I have read to book 40, which I am half way through. I am really enjoying it. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time.

I finished all 56!!! They seem to get less and less exciting/memorable after book #34-ish
