Lightning has struck twice for Cheryl Wyatt!

When Celia and Manny first met, they got off to a rocky start with each vowing to have nothing to do with each other. Then a serious accident puts Manny in Celia's care and the two are forced to be together whether they like it or not. As Celia helps Manny recover, she is also dealing with her teenage son who is still grieving over the death of his father. The two don't have the closest relationship which worsens when Celia begins to suspect her son of doing drugs. Manny tries to step in to help but Celia has been hurt by him before and doesn't want to make the same mistake again. It'll take a long time for her heart to heal before she learns to forgive him.

This was another cute military romance from Cheryl Wyatt. I actually enjoyed this story even more than the first book in this series.
I thought the characters were more developed and the storyline more fleshed out. For those who are clueless about military speak, there is less of it in this book so the reader doesn't get too bogged down by terms they don't understand. Celia and Manny have great chemistry together and it shows right from the beginning of the story. There's a lot of spice in that relationship as the two banter from the get go and then soon learn to mesh their different ways together. Javier's story is very interesting as well as it helps to bring Celia and Manny together. Although I don't think it was very smart of him to keep a pipe in his house no matter how good his intentions were. He should have realized it was bound to be found with the wrong assumptions being brought up. There is a lot about the importance of forgiveness in this book, as every character has to deal with a situation that involves it. Overall this was a lovely story that is perfect for a rainy day when you want to curl up with a sweet romance. Another solid effort from Cheryl Wyatt and I'll be looking forward to her next book!

A Soldier's Family by Cheryl Wyatt is published by
Steeple Hill (2008)

Cheryl Wyatt's closest friends would never dream the mayhem she plots during announcements at church. An RN-turned-SAHM, joyful chaos rules her home, and she delights in the stealth moments God gives her to write. She's convinced that having been born on a Naval base on Valentine's Day destined her to write military romance. She stays active in her church and in her laundry room. Both of her debut novels (Books 1 and 2 in her Wings of Refuge Series from Steeple Hill) have received Romantic Times Top Picks.
